Priscilla Presley Is A Proud Mom To Her Only Son, Musician Navarone Garibaldi

Priscilla Presley has always been associated with the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Their love story has been one of the most talked about topics for decades, up until the present day. With the release of the Baz Luhrmann biopic “Elvis,” everyone’s interest was reignited because of Austin Butler and Olivia DeJonge’s incredible portrayal of the couple. 

Elvis and Priscilla tied the knot on May 1, 1967. Unexpectedly, Priscilla found herself pregnant, and nine months later, Lisa Marie was born – their only child together.

Because of Elvis’ tumultuous relationship with Priscilla and reported affairs with other women, their relationship soured, and eventually, they got a divorce. Following this, the pair shared custody over Lisa Marie, with Elvis giving more than half a million dollars in cash to his ex-wife, and additionally spousal support, child support, 5% of the singer’s publishing companies and half the price of their Beverly Hills homes. With this, it seemed like Lisa Marie was secured for life. 

Sadly, Elvis died in August 1977 after he was found in an unresponsive state on the bathroom floor of his Graceland mansion. Subsequently, Lisa Marie became the sole heir of the music icon’s estate and entire music discography until she tragically passed away at the age of 54 on Jan. 12, 2023.

Priscilla, on the other hand, went on to find love again with Marco Garibaldi, who she eventually married in 1984. The two reportedly met through a mutual friend while they were working on a script that she was trying to produce. 

Mostly unbeknownst to the public, Priscilla had another child, however, not with Elvis but with her second husband, Marco.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2012, Priscilla talked about her life and relationship with Elvis. It was widely reported that Elvis groomed her as a teenager, making her dress and look the way he wanted her to. 

"After we got married in May 1967, when I was 21, I got pregnant straight away. Initially I was devastated. I thought, 'Oh my gosh, here I am married and now I'm pregnant and I'm not going to look attractive anymore.' It was certainly a rocky time,” Priscilla elaborated. 

After giving birth to Lisa Marie on Feb. 1, 1968, Priscilla found that she was basically raising her child on her own. "Elvis wasn't a hands-on dad," she said. Fortunately, she "took naturally to becoming a mother," and did her best to raise Lisa Marie.

"I was the disciplinarian and there were times when Lisa didn't like it but you can't live life without boundaries. I was very subtle and very calm, and she knows this now. Lisa was 4 when Elvis and I divorced and we were very civil and we really wanted him to stay in her life and they spent plenty of time together, " Priscilla explained. 

Priscilla has had a number of romantic relationships since she and Elvis broke up. Following the divorce, she immediately got together with Mike Stone, a karate instructor who gave lessons to both her and Elvis, as mentioned in the magazine “Black Belt,” but the relationship dissolved shortly after in 1975. She was then in relationships with a few well-known people, such as photographer Terry O’Neill and lawyer Robert Kardashian. 

Her longest relationship was with Marco; they were together for 22 years. Marco is an Italian screenwriter-turned-computer-programmer, according to Biography.com. They share one son together, Navarone Anthony Garibaldi, a 35-year-old musician.

Three years after Priscilla and Marco got married, Navarone was born. Like his late half-sister, Lisa Marie, he also went on to pursue a career in music. He is currently the frontman of the rock band Them Guns, which is based in Los Angeles, California. Navarone helms the guitar and provides lead vocals for the five-piece musical group. 

Santa Cruz Waves described the band as having a rock base, a tinge of surf/ska vocals and funked-out keys, forming a sound that satisfies everyone from traditional and alternative to psychedelic rock music enthusiasts. 

The band has had significant success in the rock scene, performing sold-out shows at The Viper Room, The Troubadour and many more venues. 

While music became an integral part of Navarone's life, he also found a strong liking for reptiles. According to Reptile Magazine, the 35-year-old rocker is also a reptile daddy to his clutch of reticulated pythons and Asian water monitors. 

The reason why many do not know of Priscilla’s other child is that he doesn't bear the name Presley, unlike his mother. He took on his father's lesser-known surname, despite the fact that using the ever-famous name of the King of Rock and Roll would have added a boost to his music career. 

Priscilla and Navarone have spent a lot of time together, including attending movie premieres. Priscilla has even gone to many of Navarone's concerts.

Although Navarone hasn’t gained as much fame and acclaim as his half-sister Lisa Marie did, the musician has been working hard to put his own name out there, especially in the music scene. 

It’s not surprising that Navarone has shown off his love for music, especially such a wide range of genres. His band’s sound has found inspiration from bands like Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana.

However, Navarone hasn’t shown as much interest in being in the spotlight as people have thought. Back in 2012, Priscilla explained: "He wants to do his own thing and I'm really proud of him. He doesn't want to step into the spotlight, and he's always been that way. He's not riding on Elvis and he's not riding on Lisa."

She added, "We have never been, 'Elvis this, Elvis that,' to our children because otherwise you're building up something that is almost unreachable for them."

Navarone appears to have a wonderful life, as the Daily Mail reported he got married in Switzerland in February 2022 to his now-wife, Elisa Achillli. The husband said he “can’t imagine life without” Achilli. And, of course, Priscilla was there to support her son, saying she “couldn’t be happier” for him.

Over the years, the mother-son duo has shared photographs of each other on their Instagram accounts. Navarone once posted a photo with his family, including Priscilla, saying how “thankful” he was to spend time with them.

Priscilla has enjoyed her life as a mother and as a grandmother, although the family has been beset with tragedies of late following the deaths of Lisa Marie and her late son, Benjamin Keough. "Family means a lot to me because I have a big family," she said. "...Sometimes things go really, really well and sometimes they don't but I think it's important for children to have family that are close, present and to know that they have that support."
