Mom Notices Girl With Special Needs Bagging Groceries Instead Of Cashier And Goes Public

Apr 01, 2019

Recently, a routine excursion to a local grocery store led to an unexpected bond for a young girl and a store employee.

Pennsylvania mom Lisa Teach took her special needs daughter Lilly to a Giant Food Store location, and it was there that the 9-year-old made a new friend.

Lisa detailed the incident on Facebook, starting off by saying,

“Yesterday afternoon, we had a most memorable experience, at the grocery store of all places.”

Lily has a history of being highly interested in the way store employees bag the groceries, fitting items into the bag with proper stacking. Lisa likens it to the game of Tetris and claims that watching the bagging process is therapeutic for Lilly.

On this recent shopping trip, Isaac Witte, an astute employee who also lives with a disability, noticed Lilly’s fascination. He asked her if she would like to help bag the groceries, and she was ecstatic.

Isaac was patient with her, letting her complete the task at her own pace.

Lisa then said on her post:

'Lilly was thrilled and so happy to have this opportunity. I don't know how Isaac knew how meaningful this would be to her, but somehow, he did. He took his time with her and let her bag each item. She independently bagged all our groceries and told Isaac, "I love you." She doesn't say this to everyone, but in the moment, I believe this was her way of saying thank you for seeing me and for letting me help, I love you.'

The post has since gone viral, with currently over 800 shares and 1.8K likes.

Acts of kindness do not have to be grand to be impactful. Are there people in your inner circle who would be inspired when reading about Isaac’s big-heartedness?
