Mom Beats Breast Cancer And 10 Minutes Later Wins $1 Million On Lottery

Nov 18, 2019

We’ve all heard the phrase, “good follows bad.” It’s one of those sayings that people typically tell you or you tell others when they are going through a rough patch or are dealing with a crisis. When you are dealing with something negative or just having a rough day, it’s always nice to believe that something better is on the horizon and coming your way. A mum of three children recently discovered that the idea that “good follows bad” was incredibly true in her almost astounding situation.

This mum, Lynne Price, opened a letter one day that told her that her test results from a scan showed that she was 100% clear and that she was free of breast cancer. She was ecstatic to have beaten the breast cancer that she had struggled with for so long. Minutes later her husband David rushed through the door to tell her that they had just won £1 million (or about $1.2 million) on the EuroMillions lottery.

In this case, not only does good follow bad, but great follows bad for the Price family. Lynne, a laundry worker from New Tredegar in South Wales, says she won’t tell what she said when she found out the doubly-amazing results because it is “too rude”. She also said she was at a loss for words, which is a rarity for her. She did tell reporters from The Sun that she celebrated by treating herself to a two-hour long relaxing soak in the bath.

Her husband, David, hadn’t heard that his wife was free of breast cancer at the time he happened to check his ticket for the Euromillions Millionaire Maker to find out that he and his wife had won the million. He bought the ticket at a local corner store where he had stopped in to pick up a pint of milk. The store is located in New Tredegar and is called Best-One Convenience. David rushed home to tell his wife about the big win, only to find out Lynne’s news about beating breast cancer.

Lynne learned that she was positive for breast cancer in 2015 and started undergoing treatment. She fought hard and underwent her latest scan last October, receiving the results that showed she was free from cancer cells. According to David, his wife being cancer-free was worth far more than the millions. Lynne and David aren’t sure exactly what to do with all the money yet, and they both have decided that they are going to keep working while they figure out just what to do with the funds. They do have one big plan: they are going to take a vacation together to get out of the country during the hectic general election period.

What would you do with $1.2 million in winnings that you got just from being out of milk and stopping in at a local corner store? This incredible story of Lynne and David receiving double amazing news on the very same day, literally within minutes of each other, is so inspiring and wonderful. Pass it along to anyone you think could use to hear some good news today.
