Miniature Horse And Goose Find Forever Home Together After Being Rescued

Sep 20, 2019

Not too long ago, the news media reported on two inseparable animals in need of a forever home. The duo bonded and wished to remain together. Many tales of animals brought to shelters fit this dynamic.

What made this particular story unique is the animals are a goose and a miniature horse. Those aren't exactly common best buddies in the animal kingdom. Good news out of the animal shelter emerges. The two pals now have a home to live in together reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Waffles the mini-horse and Hemingway the goose won't be kept apart. The two lived together in an unsanitary environment until being rescued. While they stayed together at a Pennsylvania animal shelter, no one knew if someone would adopt them together.

Separating them was never the intention of the Bucks County SPCA. When the two went up for adoption, the Facebook post pointed out they were a "package deal." Finding willing owners to adopt them wasn't the only issue. The animal shelter's reps needed to screen the appropriateness of the would-be rescuers.

Finding the right home for these two unique animals wouldn't be easy. The average animal lover lacks experience with large animals that require special care. The new owners do fit the bill in terms of experience and skill. They work in a veterinary office. As such, they know a little bit about caring for big animals.

Hope exists for all abandoned and rescued animals. Let all your animal lover friends hear about how Hemingway and Waffles found a new, loving home. They'll feel good afterward and we might inspire more people, to do something similar.
