Mayonnaise Ice Cream Is Now A Thing And Has Sparked A Major Food Debate

We all love ice cream on a hot day. We often buy ice cream in bulk in order to have it stocked up for everyday use. It’s good in a cone, in a cup, shaken, and stirred. Ice cream is known as a comfort food and comes in so many interesting flavors. You could try a new one every time you had a craving and never get to the end of the combinations.

Maybe you spend a lot of time at the ice cream shops, spending your cash on the newest flavors and combinations with the goal of trying them all. You just may see a new addition if one particular flavor takes off- Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise ice cream. Yes, this is a real flavor that has sparked a major food debate across social media.

The crazy flavor was the brainstorm of The Ice Falkirk ice cream shop. Located in Scotland, they are already well known for many delectable flavors, such as Strawberry Cheesecake and Reese’s Peanut Butter. They even have a “Monster” energy drink flavor- good for the caffeine addicts among us! Last week, however, they announced a breakthrough in the condiment sector. Their caption on Instagram read “Who knows a mayo addict?”

Don’t forget what the actual ingredients of mayonnaise are! Egg yolks, oil, and vinegar. Could you really imagine having that combination right in front of you, disguised as ice cream? I don’t think I could! Online commenters were quite divided over the shocking flavor. One Instagram commenter remarked that if you just added some sugar, the ice cream would be “yummy.” Another commented that they had already tried it and that it was really “nice, creamy and rich.”

However, not everyone was ready to try this strange flavor just yet. One commenter jokingly threatened to report the page for hate content, while another online user said that this combination has to be a federal crime.
