Marlo Thomas Posts Photo On Social Media With Husband Phil Donahue On Wedding Day 39 Years Ago

Marlo Thomas, famous for her role in "That Girl," posted a throwback photo on Instagram of her and her husband, Phil Donahue, from the day they got married. Since then, the couple has been together for 39 years. 

The post was Marlo and Phil together on the wedding day; Marlo was pictured with gold jewelry while she leaned on her husband cozily in her off-the-shoulder wedding gown. Her and Phil have been together for 39 years and this photo took fans back to the start. Marlo instructed fans in the caption to keep on the lookout for news soon to come. 

Phil, famously known as the host of the "Phil Donahue Show" wearing a classic black suit with a striped tie as he held a glass of red wine. It was back on May 21st, 1980 when Marlo got married to TV host, Phil Donahue.

Marlo had previously told AARP that she "didn't think matrimony was so great for women," but now, 39 years later, it is clear that she had changed her mind when she met Phil.

Phil told Closer Weekly, "we're in love, and we listen to each other, I just think it gets better." 

In an interview with HuffPost, Marlo said, "I've learned not to be unfaithful, but it's essential to give each other time," and that time is the best gift spouses can give to one another.

Marlo and her husband Phil celebrated their love on a vacation during the holidays with a two-day getaway trip to the Caribbean, as seen in Marlo's post below. The actress sported a white, belted navy blue one-piece and Phil wore a pink collared shirt with blue swim shorts. The two enjoyed the "warm and sunny" Barbados beaches.
