The Williams family of the Juab county town of Rocky Ridge, Utah is not your typical family. They aren’t even a typical polygamist family.

The Williams include one father, five wives and 24 children split between two houses.

Brady Williams, 49, is married to five women: Paulie, Robyn, Rosemary, Nonie, Rhonda.

“It’s not that complicated,” Brady told ABC news. “We love each other. We’re just normal times five.”

The family claims they are teaching their children they don’t have to practice polygamy themselves telling The Journal in 2013,

"It's about love and it’s about commitment, and it’s about happiness as a family,” Brady said.

The Williams family have opted for a more “progressive” approach to polygamy. The family occasionally drinks alcohol and is generally quite expressive about their open-minded beliefs; something Brady says has made them “misfits” within their community.

The family is split between two houses that are next door to one another. Each wife takes turns every night to cook dinner for the 30-member family.

“It’s like having Thanksgiving dinner five nights a week,” Brady Williams told The Journal.

The family even got their own reality show that aired on TLC between 2013 and 2014. Brady says the show gave them a chance to show people that polygamy can be healthy and loving, despite what many believe.

“There is an unhealthy stigma attached to polygamy,” he said. “There is nothing wrong with consenting adults living and loving how they choose.”
