Loretta Lynn Reacts To 'The Voice' Hopeful's Stunning 'Coal Miner's Daughter' Audition

Mar 07, 2019

The latest season of The Voice is back, along with great performers. One of those performers is 18-year-old Hannah Key. She garnered attention from all four judges, as well as someone extra special over social media.

Hannah's performance was on the Feb 26th show. She chose to sing a well-known iconic song from an even better-known singer and songwriter. The song was "Coal Miner's Daughter". The singer (and songwriter) was Loretta Lynn.

The musical introduction got coach Blake Shelton very excited.

It only took the first lyrics to convince both Shelton and fellow coach Kelly Clarkson to turn around. Both Shelton and Clarkson wanted Hannah on their teams, but Clarkson realized that Hannah's style might fit Shelton's team better.

She told the young woman, "I do love the authentic country, which is missing. I get why you’re probably inclined to go to Blake’s team."

Shelton noted that the older style of country music isn't celebrated as much as it should be. He told the aspiring singer, "You can be the one that gets those kinds of records back in the mainstream."

Hannah did decide to go with Team Blake, which got her plenty of praise from the show's fans.

Ultimately, she chose to be on Team Blake, which garnered her praise from many Voice fans on social media.

One voice on social media stood out of the crowd. Who is now a big fan of Hannah? Loretta Lynn.

The legendary country singer shared the full audition on her social media page with the statement, "I was honored that Hannah Kay picked the song that means the most to me for her audition on the Voice."

She told Shelton to do good with the young singer and wished her luck. Of course, Hannah was totally over the moon.

She responded to Loretta's heartfelt statement: "I love you so much Loretta, you’ve been such an inspiration in my life and your blessing means more to me than anything in this world."

Loretta responded to Hannah. "Love you too, honey."
