Little Girls Capture Hearts At Christmas Recital When They Forget Their Moves

Dec 08, 2021

When it comes time to get into the holiday spirit, nothing does it better than putting on your favorite Christmas song. While decorating the tree and hanging up lights are nice, nothing compares to singing and dancing around to some classic holiday tunes, such as “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee.

“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was written by Johnny Marks, a talented songwriter who wrote a handful of other well-known songs including “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “A Holly Jolly Christmas,” according to the Tennessean. Marks and Lee were friends, and the former wanted Lee to be the one who recorded his latest song even though she was only 12 years old at the time.

The iconic song was first released in 1958, but didn’t receive much recognition, according to the Tennessean. However, after Lee started making waves in the music industry, the holiday track was re-released and went on to receive the love and attention it deserved and rising high on the music charts. The rest is history.

Nowadays, it’s common to hear “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” at any holiday party or even in Christmas episodes of your favorite shows. On top of that, many people have decided to perform their own renditions of the song, whether it be through singing or dancing. A group of young, aspiring dancers performed their own take of the song, although they seemed to forget the majority of the choreography. Their audience didn’t seem to mind, though, as everything cheered and laughed along to the girls’ heartwarming performance.

Mastering Their Own Moves

During Christmas recitals, it’s not uncommon for people to perform classic or modern-day Christmas songs. The main characters in the movie “Mean Girls” even performed an iconic dance routine to Lee’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” while wearing Santa outfits.

A young group of girls also put their own twist on the famous song, as well as seemingly creating their own choreography as the performance progressed at their Christmas recital. A video of their performance was uploaded back in 2008 and has since captured the hearts of many as the adorable kids did their best to dance their little hearts out.

Dressed in Santa outfits, the girls started dancing off-beat from one another as they looked at each other for help with the choreography. They did an alternating sequence with their arms and legs before showing off their beautiful twirls. Finally, all of the tiny tots got together in one line to dance happily across the stage.

Everyone in the audience cheered and laughed as the girls put on their show-stopping routine filled with fun and flair. Even though they may not have performed the routine as flawlessly as possible, it was clear that they all had a really fun time and that the audience loved it.

People that have stumbled across the heartwarming video have also been amazed at the girls’ happy personalities and adorable performance, taking the time to leave plenty of positive comments. One person said, “So adorable.” Another commented, “Omg awwww so cute.” A third person said, “So cute and funny.”
