Little Girl With Down Syndrome Shows Us Just How Exciting Life Can Be

Nov 11, 2016

Many people tend to think that mental disorders prevent people from living their lives to the fullest and achieving their goals. This 7-year-old girl with Down Syndrome proves that it’s our spirit that allows us to achieve anything, not our minds.

Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is a genetic disorder which generally leads to physical and mental delays in development.

However, the understanding of those with Down Syndrome is changing, as shown here by 7-year-old Sofia Sanchez.

In this video, her mother asks her about her disorder and life with it. Sofia has the absolute perfect answers. She is fully aware, and makes the whole world aware, that she is smart, kind, and beautiful.

Sofia is full of life and sees no problem with having Down Syndrome. In fact, she thinks it’s “exciting”!

Sofia is clearly a shining star and a perfect example of what it means to have a free spirit, which is exactly what she wanted to show people for Down Syndrome awareness month.

Children with Down Syndrome can be an example to us all. They lack no love or compassion and are capable of achieving their goals, just like every other able-bodied person.

With the right family and friends and a strong spirit, anything is possible. Sofia has already started her modeling career, which you can view on her website, along with more information about her life.

Be like Sofia - Love life and be happy!
