Homeless Man Pleads For Scraps Only To Have Chick-fil-A Manager Say 'No' And Takes Action

Mar 19, 2019

Many people love to help the homeless. Some volunteer by feeding the homeless and making sure they have a warm place to sleep.

Others may not have the time to offer their services but make up for it with cash. Some people avoid the homeless altogether.

Everyone has their reasons for choosing how they treat the less fortunate.

When a homeless man headed into a Chick-fil-A in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he was shocked to discover how the manager there treated him. He came in specifically asking for just leftover scraps. He didn’t want to ask for anything more.

However, he left the store with much more than what he thought he would. Joey Mustain was having lunch with his daughter when he witnessed the wonderful manager take care of the homeless man. As they sat at a nearby table eating their ice cream, he took a picture of what he saw.

Joey stated that the homeless man was quite disheveled. He had wet, calked mud all over his shoes, and his hair was matted and dirty. He obviously hadn’t shaved in quite some time, either. Joey mentioned that a lot of people were keeping their distance from him as he waited patiently for a manager.

When the man asked the manager for scraps of food, he refused. He didn’t want to give the many leftover scraps of food that no one else wanted. Instead, he insisted that the man enjoy a full, warm meal. He simply asked to pray over the man.

It became quiet in the restaurant as the manager stopped and rested his hand on the arm of the homeless man. He quietly prayed with the man as everyone looked on in awe.

"As busy as they were, the manager stopped then and there, laid his hand on the man, and proceeded to pray. I heard love in that prayer. The homeless man wasn't some untouchable stain on business. He was the reason that store opened its doors this morning (or any morning)." Joey wrote in his post.

It is important to remember that the homeless need our love and support. If you can give even a little bit of your time, money, or energy to help, it will surely be appreciated. Everyone has to work hard to change the lives of those who need it the most.
