Group Of Boys Banned From Wearing Shorts Despite Crazy Hot Temperatures Fight Back By Wearing Skirts

A group of young boys was informed that despite the temperatures being in the 90s, wearing shorts to school was not allowed. In retaliation, they came to school wearing skirts instead. Students in Grade 9 at Ponton High School in Chesire came together to wear girls’ school skirts to protest the regulation stating they are not allowed to wear shorts, no matter how hot it gets.

The parents of the boys have also stated that they think it is ridiculous that the boys are not allowed to wear shorts while the girls can wear skirts.

Many of the school staff have even supported the students, saying they find the rule ridiculous themselves. Cal Duncan, one of the mothers, feels that the policy should be changed. Girls are not permitted to wear shorts, either.

Eddie, her son, decided that there was absolutely no reason why the boys shouldn’t be permitted to wear skirts, as the policy calls for unisex uniforms.

The young boys ended up borrowing skirts from the girls in their school to wear in protest. Nine boys, ranging in age from 13 to 14, borrowed skirts to wear for their lessons. Eddie himself challenged a teacher who told him that he needed to wear pants. He stated that the uniform policy is unisex, so if he wanted to wear a skirt, he would. Mrs. Duncan stated that her son was very proud to be part of the challenge. She said that there was a huge sense of pride among all of the boys who thought the rule was unfair.

Most of the staff, while surprised, were quite supportive of the idea. The policy is one that needs to be changed, sooner rather than later.
