In some ways, Golden Retrievers are more akin to platinum. In addition to their gentle manner and love for children, they are highly intelligent. Moreover, they seem to relish the training process. Goldens make excellent companion dogs and can even be helpful around the house. These gentle giants have been known to greet visitors to the home. They can also fetch a variety of useful items such as slippers and the morning paper.

Ellie is a Golden Retriever who has learned how to bring her human, Nick, one very useful item. In a reversal of the way things usually are, Ellie brings Nick his food. More specifically, the Golden carries lunch to Nick.

Gets Even More Unusual

While visions of dog-slobber encrusted PB&Js might be filling your head, Nick's lunch is much more sanitary. There is no risk of saliva-contamination in this situation. Nick's food is securely wrapped in a paper bag from a local eatery.

Chick-fil-A is such a favorite of Nick's that he orders lunch on their online app at least once per week. He frequents the same Chapel Hill, North Carolina location each time because he likes the staff. They also enjoy serving his dog.

Fetch The Food

Ellie fetches her human dad's food from the staff of his favorite restaurant. They hold the bag out for the caring canine as she hooks the bag with her teeth. Ellie then carries the food to her human companion.

When they receive an order from Nick, Chick-fil-A employees have learned to look for Ellie. Although serving a dog may have seemed strange at first, the staff all know Nick's beloved dog. They even hold the bag so that it's easier for the darling dog to pick up.

Ellie Knows Her Place

It isn't just the restaurant employees who know their place. Ellie knows which designated pick-up parking spot to sit in while she waits for the meal to arrive. The Golden Retriever goes to the exact same spot every time.

The staff members also know where the determined dog will make her appearance. They eagerly bring the food to the loyal canine. The dog then happily takes the food and runs it back to her human companion.

Homeward Bound

After retrieving the meal, the Retriever then heads home. She joyfully prances back, holding the swinging Chick-fil-A bag. Ellie and Nick live three-tenths of a mile from the restaurant. Ellie's antics have really gained her popularity.

The local community members enjoy seeing her bright, happy face at lunchtime. A Facebook video of her posted by the Chapel Hill, North Carolina Chick-fil-A has gained over four million views.

Time To Deliver Some News

As a result of all this attention, Ellie's video has gained the attention of the Chick-fil-A company. Executives were so impressed with the Golden that they've included footage of her in a commercial. The commercial features Ellie taking Nick's lunch from a Chick-fil-A employee and delivering it to Nick, who is waiting on the other side of the parking lot.

Nick must be so proud that his prized pooch has brought home a national television appearance for them both!
