Foster Kitties Are So Attached They Hold Each Other's Paws

May 08, 2019

Millions of cats across the United States are currently wandering the streets homeless, but for two kittens in Florida, the threat of no shelter and safety is no longer an issue.

Thanks to the St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, two cats named Lily and Rosa have not only found a safe haven, but also an inseparable bond. Ever since these two were introduced to one another by Andrea Christian, they have formed a foolproof connection that nothing can interrupt.

The first cat from this lovable duo to come into the St. Francis Society Animal Rescue was a small black tabby named Rosa. According to the Dodo, when Andrea first came into contact with Rosa, she was extremely malnourished and depressed.

Shortly after Rosa's arrival, the rescue got a referral for a cat named Lily who had been in ICU for a week due to toxoplasmosis. Lily was originally located off of a road in Tampa looking vastly underweight and timid in nature. The folks at the St. Francis rescue administered antibiotics to Lily until she was ready to be introduced to the other cats housed in the facility.

Rosa happened to be the first cat that the staff introduced Lily to, and they immediately warmed up to each other in a way that shocked everyone who was able to witness it. The team at St. Francis Society had known Rosa to be easily frightened and overall apprehensive of her surroundings, but this drastically changed when it came to Lily.

Rosa started standing guard when Lily would take her naps throughout the day, and anytime one ventured out to explore, the other would immediately follow. The intertwined felines can even be seen sharing a food bowl on the foster company's Instagram page.

Staff at the St. Francis Society say that Lily's fast recovery can be related to some routine hydrotherapy, as well as the adamant presence of Rosa looking after her. The sanctuary is now searching for a suitable forever home for these best friends where they can happily reside without being separated.

The staff at St. Francis realize just how vital this unification is in order for them to both live fulfilling lives, which is why they are dedicated to keeping them together.

The unbreakable bond found between Rosa and Lily serves as a reminder of just how important friendships are in order for us to thrive. What do you think of their beautiful bond? Would you adopt them both? Let us know in the comments - and make sure you pass this along to your friends and family!
