Nora is a polar bear currently residing in the Hogle Zoo. Although Nora is treated well by the zoo staff, Salt Lake City is still a difficult place for a polar bear to live. In fact, it would be tough to find a place less suitable for an animal who is built to withstand temperatures that would freeze a human within minutes.

Now that winter is over, Nora has been struggling to stay cool.

The zoo had a great idea of providing some ice cubes for the cute polar bear to help fight the heat. Footage of the incident has been spreading across the internet like wildfire. People can't get enough of the cute animal.

Nora currently resides in a holding area to recover after receiving surgery to fix a broken bone in her forearm. The polar bear will be able to return to her normal habitat after making a full recovery.

Although Nora lives in Salt Lake City right now, she was actually born at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.

She was brought into the world on November 6, 2016. The Hogle Zoo couldn't resist Nora's cuteness. They adopted the polar bear in 2017. She is the second female polar bear at the Hogle Zoo.

According to the Hogle Zoo's webpage, polar bears tend to overheat due to their thick skin and fur. Although they are designed to stay warm in incredibly cold environments, these animals sometimes cool off by dipping in the frigid waters of the Arctic.

The Hogle Zoo in Utah was first established in 1931 and has been a popular attraction in the state's capital ever since. The zoo is located near the start of Emigration Canyon. More than 800 animals are spread out across the zoo's 42 acres of terrain.
