Dog Spends His Monday Cheering On Participants Of Boston Marathon

Eight-year-old Spencer is a therapy dog who is known for being a good boy. He has also proven to be a great cheerleader.

Rich Powers is Spencer's owner and the two of them traveled to where they are needed the most. Spencer regularly visits senior centers, hospitals, and schools to spread his good cheer. There are countless individuals who received smiles for the day and memories for a lifetime as a result of the time spent with Spencer.

Spencer also enjoys traveling to the Boston Marathon to cheer on the runners.

A video taken of Spencer a year ago shows the dog sitting on a crate at the Boston Marathon. In the video, Spencer is seen with two flags in his mouth. The words 'Boston Strong' was on the flags. The video of Spencer's Boston Marathon appearance was a hit with the internet community and was viewed 3 million times.

The runners appreciated the presence of Spencer and many of them stopped to take a photo with the dog. Spencer dawned a coat that belongs to his owners to protect him against the frigid conditions.

Spencer is at it again this year. Only this time, the dog is better prepared for the weather conditions. He wore a yellow raincoat of his own in anticipation of the rain that was sure to fall from the cloud filled sky.

Spencer stood near mile marker two and watched closely as the runner passed his spot. Spencer once again held two Boston strong flags in his mouth. He seemed completely in his element while cheering on the runners.

The runners all seemed to appreciate his presence while in the early stages of the 26-mile race. Many of them nodded, smiled, or winked their acknowledgment of Spencer. The video of this year's appearance by Spencer at the Boston Marathon is one of the most adorable things you will see. He brought smiles to the faces of many and spread joy to everyone who came in contact with the dog.
