A cool look at new technology? Check. Fascinating behavior displayed by an animal? Check. A cute puppy being downright adorable? Check. This 2018 video of a Golden Retriever, an undeniably intelligent breed, ringing the doorbell to re-enter its Spokane house has all the necessary ingredients to be the video that brightens your day.

People are always looking for new and improved ways to use technology to keep their houses safe. A recent development is the doorbell camera, which lets those inside take a peek outside their front door when the doorbell rings.

This is certainly a good way to stay safe, but it can also lead to some hilarious and cute moments. This video that Greg Basel captured of his dog is a perfect example.

Basel's dog, a three-month-old golden retriever, found himself stuck outside of the house. He wanted to come inside, but the door was closed. This is where most dogs would give up and lie down or whine pathetically at the door. But not this pup. Basel's dog is a smart one and knew exactly how to be let in, reports the New York Post.

The pup jumps up by the door, smacking his paw on the button to produce an automated knocking sound. Again and again, he repeats this trick, knowing that this is the ticket back into the comfort and warmth of his home.

Luckily, Basel had the foresight to upload the video onto the internet, where it has since become a sensation. It is no wonder because this is the type of thing that hits us right in the feels. Don't we all want an adorable golden retriever puppy with a steadfast desire to come inside to see us and an uncanny intelligence that makes it ring the doorbell like any old human friend?

Once you have laughed and smiled until your cheeks hurt, be sure to pass it on to your friends. This much cuteness just has to spread!
