Christopher Walken: His Career Through The Decades

Hollywood veteran Christopher Walken is celebrating his 77th birthday today.

The actor, who was born in 1943, started his career in the 50s and has since appeared in over 100 films and has awards and accolades for his career galore. To celebrate the legendary performer, we’re looking back at his amazing career throughout the years.

The Deer Hunter (1978)

In The Deer Hunter Walken plays alongside Robert De Niro and John Savage in a war drama that explores the lives and complications of those who served during the Vietnam war. Walken’s performance in the film bagged him his first-ever Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Batman Returns (1992)

In this classic superhero film, which was directed by Tim Burton, Walken portrays a Gotham villain, Max Shreck. The movie ended up grossing at $266.8 million worldwide with just an $80 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Arguably one of Quentin Tarantino’s most iconic films, Pulp Fiction saw Walken star as Captain Koons, a Vietnam war veteran. He starred alongside other legendary Hollywood actors such as Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Travolta. Pulp Fiction ended up winning 8 awards out of 26 nominations, according to IMDb.

Catch Me If You Can (2002)

In Catch Me if You Can, Walken stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks in the critically acclaimed crime drama as Frank Abagnale Sr.

The actor won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film.

The Jungle Book (2016)

In this Disney live-action film, Walken voiced King Louie, an orangutan who wishes to learn how to make fire from Mowgli in order to become more human.
