Boy Cries Tears Of Joy After Grandparents Surprise Him With Puppy

May 29, 2019

It’s heartwarming how a furry friend can make your day so much better. While a puppy requires your time and commitment, the joy they bring to your life is undeniable.

Recently, seven-year-old Jensen Stuart from Doncaster in the UK received the gift of joy a puppy can bring. In a story in the Dailymail, young Jensen's heartwarming and spontaneous reaction went viral.

Jensen came home on May 9, 2019, to his mom and grandparents waiting for him with a big surprise. His mom, Rebecca Browne, said on Facebook,“ Jensen has had a horrible week, even in tears again today leaving school! So coming home to this has made his week”

Jensen’s grandpa, Steven Browne can be heard saying in the video, “Guess what? Your Nan and I have got you something.” When Jensen opened the cardboard pet carrier, his face lights up with pure joy at the sight of a small black puppy.

The boy's grandma, Lynda Browne, proclaims lovingly, “It’s for me and you.”

Jensen began to cry and gave his grandma a hug as his mother gently hands him the puppy. Jensen's innocence and sweet reaction to his dream come true captured everyone's heart.

When his family asks Jensen what he will name the puppy, he replied, “Buddy the Elf,” in reference to Will Ferrell's character in the movie “Elf.” Rebecca Browne jokingly says, “I think it’s Buddy the dog!”

Jensen’s grandparents had to explain that Buddy the puppy would need to live at his grandmother's house. But young Jensen was of course always welcome to play with Buddy whenever he could.

Jensen's grandfather, who had filmed the episode, asked the boy if the puppy was everything he had wished for. Through tears of joy, Jensen exclaims, “Yes, I’m so happy.” The boy then says to his new puppy, “I am Jensen, your best friend now.”

Jensen's mother is very thankful for her parents' love. ”I couldn’t ask for a better Mum & Dad and Jensen certainly couldn’t ask for better Grandparents! He’s absolutely buzzing and can’t wait to sleep at Nans tomorrow to play with his “Buddy.”‘

Having his puppy Buddy, and a supportive family is really helpful to the little boy. His mother recently posted on Facebook that her son completed his first exam at school. “He’s absolutely amazing to me,” she said. “He’s happy and can’t wait to do another.”
