Boy Brutally Kicked Off School Bus By Driver Although He Was Bullied By Older Students And Begged To Stay

Feb 18, 2019

A school bus driver in Oklahoma is under intense scrutiny following the release of a video on YouTube. In the video, the bus driver forces a crying teenage boy off the bus.

The boy, who is only called Jason in the footage, is frightened of an older bully waiting for him at the bus stop.

Shaking in his seat, Jason pleads with the bus driver, telling him that the bully wants to hit him or even kill him.

Asking the bus driver to let him off closer to his house, the driver angrily tells Jason to leave. As Jason exits, other students yell at him to run.

The video cuts out as an older student punches Jason, who then falls to the ground.

The incident took place on January 17 and the students involved go to Locust Grove Public School. Following video of the act going viral, local police have begun an investigation into the incident.

Major Rod Howell of the Mayes County Sheriff’s Department told KFSM that the video itself is very disturbing and promised a widespread investigation.

Police are looking to see if other students on the bus took videos of the attack and are also examining footage from two cameras on the bus itself. Major Howell further added that the school district is fully cooperating with police.

Locust Grove Public School is also looking into the incident. In a public statement, the school said that the bus driver’s handling of the situation would be addressed internally. Despite the statement, parents have taken to social media to express their frustration at how the case has been handled by the school.

Many parents see the video as proof that there is a culture of bullying at Locust Grove, questioning why the school is handling the incident on an internal basis. Others insist that the bus driver should not only be fired but face legal prosecution for his insensitivity.
