Some claim that the best rewards for a job well done are the feeling of achieving greatness and the joy of working to one's potential.

Workers Get What They Deserve

While these are both beautiful gifts, sometimes material rewards are also quite welcome. The following two-hundred hardworking employees never in their wildest dreams envisioned what their diligent work would bring to them.

As ITV reported, the workers of S. John Properties were brought to tears after they heard about their surprise bonus. The employees of the Maryland-based firm received it after meeting their target of developing 20 million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space that amounted to $3.5 billion.

As awe gave way to rapid arithmetic calculation, workers quickly realized they'd each been gifted $50,000. Tears and laughter were quickly followed by gratitude all around. These faithful employees had just received enough money to make substantial differences in their lives.

Chairman and founder Edward St John explained his motivation for giving this extremely generous Christmas bonus.

"To celebrate the achievement of our goal, we wanted to reward our employees in a big way that would make a significant impact on their lives. I am thankful for every one of our employees, for their hard work and dedication," he said to WMAR
