Aug 22, 2019

Actress Angelina Jolie became teary-eyed when she dropped her son Maddox off at college in South Korea. The star was caught on video saying that she was trying not to cry as her eldest son will soon begin studying bio-engineering at Yonsei University.

A source told People that Maddox has been preparing by taking Korean classes a few times a week. He decided on Yonsei after touring a few universities with Angelina back in November 2018 while she was on an official visit as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) Special Envoy.

His adoring mom told People in April that she is “nothing but proud” of Maddox and she “look[s] forward “to all he will do.”

While she will probably miss him a lot, his siblings Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne still have a few years before leaving the nest. Plus, Maddox will be close to their Cambodian home where he and the entire clan can visit.

His mom was captured on video as she dropped Maddox off, a little crowd had formed around the high-profile star and her son. In the video Angelina is heard saying, "I know, I'm trying not to cry,' she says to the group of people as cited by the Daily Mail. "Yes it's time, thank you very much, it seems like a great school, I'm sure you're all going to like it here,' she said.

Congratulations to Maddox Jolie-Pitt on high school graduation and the next big chapter in his life of going off to college! It will be a wonderful journey with his family supporting him along the way.
