Adam Sandler Sings Heartwarming Tribute For His Friend Chris Farley

Jan 15, 2019

Adam Sandler is a comedian whose style and films have generated polarized opinions by many -- some love him while others hate him. That said he isn't just known for his stand-up or his movies - he's also known for occasionally dabbling in music.

For much of his career, Sandler occasionally brings a guitar to play as he sings at live events or during his comedy routines. He's even recorded albums full of songs that contain the same off-beat slapstick style of humour he's known for.

Although During his new Netflix special 100% Fresh, he proved that he could also perform a more serious composition besides his typical comedic fare. This was because he dedicated this particular song to his late friend, the legendary Chris Farley.

Farley and Sandler both appeared on Saturday Night Live during the 1990s when they were first getting their footing. December 18, 2018, marked the twenty-first anniversary of Farley's death, and many decided to share their love for him on social media.

During the performance, a montage plays behind Sandler showing moments of Farley's life - from movies to things like the Chippendale's skit in which he performed alongside Patrick Swayze.

Many begin tearing up at Sandler's performance. Things got even more emotional when he describes in the song how he'd last seen Farley at the wedding for fellow comedian Tim Meadows before he ultimately lost his life.

Farley was known for his hilariously energetic style as well as a variety of popular sketches such as the Gap Girls and Lunch Lady, which were referenced in the song. Sandler constantly references how much joy Farley brought to him and his friends.
