Jan 09, 2019

Losing weight is never easy. Changing your body often requires more than just diet and exercise, but a complete change in lifestyle as well.

As people begin making New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, one woman from Meridian, Mississippi is inspiring millions.

Leneathra Reed has struggled with weight all her life, but things got serious when she found herself weighing over 600 pounds. For two years Leneathra struggled to lose weight, then she began working with personal trainer Frank Harbin and had a big breakthrough. Leneathra and Frank have been training together since November and, thanks to Frank’s leadership, Leneathra has lost over 30 pounds.

While many want to lose weight to look better, Leneathra’s sole motivation is her 23-month old daughter, Kenlyn. Speaking with reporters from WAPT, the young mom says that she can’t imagine anyone else raising her daughter and wants to be there for her through thick and thin.

Holding her baby in her arms, Leneathra says that Kenlyn’s smile is the only thing she needs to continue her weight loss journey.

Leneathra found support from an unexpected source as videos of her workout videos make the rounds on social media. The videos were posted by Frank, who frequently records his clients working out.

In the posts of Leneathra’s cardio and strength training sets, millions of people on social media cheer on the determined mother. One of Leneathra’s video has already been viewed 52 million times, with commentators sharing their own weight loss stories. Many more say that Leneathra has inspired them to start their own weight loss journey.

While most people might be a tad apprehensive in having millions of people watching videos of their workout routine, Leneathra sees it as an opportunity to teach the public. Primarily, Leneathra says that she hopes her videos inspire others to go to the gym.

Speaking directly to viewers, Leneathra says that the first step in correcting a problem is accepting that you have one. Leneathra says that once you take responsibility for your health, you can then concentrate on losing weight.

In addition to losing 30 pounds, Leneathra has already seen a marked improvement in her overall health. Being able to breathe better and no longer suffering from back pain, Leneathra can move better at work.

What do you think of Leneathra’s story? Are you or anyone that you know hoping to lose weight this year? Make sure to pass this along to them - it might just be all the inspiration they need!
