It is no secret that the bathroom is easily one of the most germ-ridden places in your house. The video below gives you tips on cleaning those items that need attention but which you may have not even thought to include in your bathroom cleaning routine.Melissa Maker from YouTube channel “Clean My Space” is here to teach you how to clean five of the filthiest items in your bathroom, many of which you might not even think about when you go to clean your bathroom: your toothbrush, loofah, razor, toilet bowl brush, and the toilet plunger. The video also has some great storage ideas for keeping your bathroom neat and tidy!My favorite piece of advice that she gives is her tip on keeping your toilet brush clean and germ-free between uses. Your toilet brush is the one item in your bathroom that you think of as a cleaning tool so it doesn’t get much attention and sanitizing itself. Melissa says, “After cleaning the toilet, rest the brush between the bowl and the seat. Spray it generously with the disinfectant of your choice, even rubbing alcohol, and let it sit, dripping wet, for 10 minutes or so. Then, rinse the brush in the hottest water you can find and allow it to drip dry again, using the same method.” Make sure to never place a wet brush back into its container, as that’s when it really starts to get gross. The importance of cleaning your bathroom regularly should be obvious if you take a second to think about all of the activities your family uses it for. ‘Regular cleaning’ means cleaning all solid surfaces as well as the floor with a disinfectant cleaner on a weekly basis and giving the whole room a more thorough scrubbing about once a month. If anyone in your house has been stricken with the flu or diarrhea, you might want to do double-duty and give all surfaces and items a good scrub down.
