The St. Louis Metropolitan Police came across a very unusual request when Edie Simms asked to be arrested. The subject hasn’t been involved in any sort of malfeasance or misconduct and hasn’t attracted the police’s attention before. She lives a quiet life in a local retirement home and she is 102 years old!

No, that is not a typo! Edie Simms had an item left on her bucket list and the St. Louis Police was kind enough to fulfill her eccentric wish.

A group of officers put the smiley 102-year-old in handcuffs at her retirement home and escorted her to the Five Star Senior Center. Simms does a great job donating to the establishment and has sewed hundreds of pillows and blankets for the residents.

Never has someone been that happy riding in the back of a police car in handcuffs! And the police was equally happy to fulfill Edie’s wish as she had been such a generous and kind part of the St. Louis community.

She gave wonderful and inspiring advice: "Keep going, don't ever stop whatever it is you're doing and spend some time doing community service,'' she said. "Sometimes the person you reach out and touch is the only person that they will talk to in a day."

What a champ! After an exciting day as a criminal, Simms swore off a life of crime and returned to her retirement home for a round of bingo!
